| Problema: | Tissue-equivalent material is a synthetic material represented by a mixture of chemical compounds that reproduce the characteristics of the human tissue in the presence of ionizing radiation. In this sense, such material can substitute human tissues in radiological simulations or radiotherapy. However, the phantoms available in the market present the following disadvantages: • The simulators do not reproduce both antropomorphic and antropometric characteristics at the same time; • The pieces reproduce the human shape, but do not show nuclear equivalence; • The simulators do not show equivalent chemical composition, and are limited to alloy, epoxy and acrylic. |
| Solução Proposta: | The technology describes pieces that present both antropomorphic and antropometric characteristics, reproducing the topology and biometry of human organs and tissues. The tissues reproduced using tissue-equivalent material are: cortical and trabecular bone tissue, nervous tissue, muscular tissue, epithelial tissue, adipose tissue, cartilaginous tissue and glandular tissue. The organs are: lungs, heart, brain and liver. The phantoms can also reproduce the main circulatory routes of the trunk and head. |
